The reorganization of the Port of Pescara, foreseen by the Port Master Plan, includes a series of interventions that cover the entire port and adjacent areas. It is an action that, as a whole, intervenes in an important and decisive way on the current environmental problems as well as on economic activities.
As part of the development of the Port Master Plan of the Port of Pescara, the Strategic Environmental Assessment procedure was carried out. Within the SEA I was responsible for the preparation of all the necessary environmental studies and for supporting the administration procedures during the various stages.
The work included the preparation of the preliminary environmental report and the environmental report, with the analysis of the strategic objectives, their internal and external consistency and identification of the impact indices. I also gave technical support to the responsible authority, Municipality of Pescara, during the approval process.
The process was concluded with a positive environmental compatibility evaluation by Abruzzo Region, Transport, Infrastructures, Mobility and Logistics Department (Det. Dir. N. 14 / DE of 7/4/2014).
